Privacy Policy — Quick Timer
Last updated: June 3, 2026
Quick Timer (“the extension”) is a countdown timer for your browser. This
policy explains what data it handles.
Summary
Quick Timer does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data.
It has no analytics, no tracking, no accounts, and no external servers. Nothing
ever leaves your device.
What the extension stores
The extension uses Chrome’s local storage (chrome.storage.local) to save, on
your own device only:
- Active timer state — the timer’s end time, duration, label, and
paused/running status, so a running timer survives the popup being closed.
- Your settings — mini-widget on/off, mini-widget position, alarm sound
on/off, and notification on/off.
This data stays in your browser. It is not sent anywhere and is removed when the
timer is dismissed or the extension is uninstalled.
Permissions and why they are used
- alarms — schedule the timer so it fires when the countdown completes.
- notifications — show “timer started” and “time’s up” desktop notifications.
- storage — save the active timer and your settings locally (see above).
- offscreen — play the alarm sound when the timer finishes.
- host access (all sites) — display the optional floating mini-timer widget
on the pages you have open. The extension reads no page content and sends no
page data anywhere; this access is used solely to render the widget overlay.
Third parties
The extension makes no network requests and includes no third-party code,
analytics, fonts, or services. The interface font is bundled inside the
extension.
Children’s privacy
The extension collects no data from anyone, including children.
